  • USA Today rated it as one of the top ten beer festivals in the entire country

Don’t forget, Foam Fest is Saturday, August 29, from 1:00 pm to 6:00 pm at Antler’s Park in downtown Colorado Springs. Yes, you read that right… unlimited samples. There will be live entertainment, food from Old Chicago and Rock Bottom, and “festival style” activities including crowd favorite “Corn Holing.” New this year will be a home brewer competition. Pale ale and wheats are the only two styles being accepted for this competition. Registration and additional information can be found on the website. Judging will be conducted by several local “beer celebrities” including Mike Bristol, Jason Yester, Duane Lujan, Chris Wright (author of the “The Beer Journal”), and the crew from Beer Tap TV. Proceeds benefit the Miracle on Tejon Street (an event that feeds homeless people on Christmas day) and The Friends of Cheyenne Cañon (a conservation group dedicated to preserving North Cheyenne Cañon Park).

Did you know?!  According to the “Profile America” feature from the U.S. Census Bureau Americans drink 22 gallons of beer per year.  HA!  I drink that in a month. We each drink nearly 8 1/2 gallons of tea each year — compared to 24 gallons of coffee, 22 gallons of beer and 51 gallons of soft drinks.
