UPDATES

Last week’s winner was… Rick (AKA “Ales from the Crypt”), who pounced on the question: In episode #39 of Beer Buzz we discussed a really old story about a scientist who found something in an ancient fossil.  What was it that he found? ANSWER:  Saccharomyces cerevisiae – known in culinary circles as baker’s or brewer’s yeast – from a 45 million-year-old fossil.  Rick was sitting online waiting for the episode to go live. For his diligence and quick reaction time Rick won himself a set of Spiegelau glasses. Congrats Rick!

This week’s trivia question is a doozy.  If you answer correctly you’ll get yourself a copy of Gary Vaynerchuck’s book, Crush It! But wait… there more!  Because it’s Thanksgiving and we’re feeling generous you’ll also receive a set of Spiegelau Beer Classics glasses!  This is one prize package you’re gonna want to grab. You’ll be thankful.

Well, none of these are true and we set the record straight – with a lot of help from our favorite beer historian, Bob Skilnik. Please check out Bob’s website and book (Beer and Food: An American History) for a lot more Beer & Pilgrim myth busting!

Story #2: Forza Migliozzi & The Ad Store would like to buy the world a beer and keep it company -  Hollywood based Forza Migliozzi and the Big Apple’s  The Ad Store have joined forces to purchase an American icon via crowdsourcing.  That icon?  The Pabst Brewing Company.  And you too can be a part of this momentous event.
