Story #1: What Your Taste in Beer Says About You – Mindset Media, a market researcher specializing in psychographics, interviewed more than 2,600 people online in August and September and found specific personalities and mind-sets for more than half a dozen branded beer choices. Your choice of beer can be as telling about your personality as what kind of clothing you wear or the car that you drive.
Story #2: Greene King Insults America – Greene King Brewery has launched a program to flood America with fake beer engines (pseudo-cask handpumps) for dispensing filtered, kegged Old Speckled Hen. Fight the fake!
Story #3: 2010 Beerdrinker of the Year Search is Underway – Wynkoop Brewing Company is seeking beer resumes from the nation’s most beer-minded men and women for the 2010 Beerdrinker of the Year contest.
Story #4: Shmaltz Brewing Named “Top 20 Fastest Growing Companies” by SF Business Times
BEER RELEASES
Big Barrel Double IPA – Karl Strauss Brewing Company – San Diego, CA - Their first-ever 22 ounce bomber, and the initial beer in a new Coastal Reserve series scheduled to hit shelves across Southern California in early November. A limited run of 600 cases will be for sale at retail locations throughout Southern California in early November.
Frambozen & 2 Below – New Belgium Brewing – Ft. Collins, Co – Frambozen, a 7% ABV raspberry infused brown ale, is perfect for holiday dinners. 2 Below is 6.6% ABV winter brew that goes through dry-hopping during fermentation and is pushed into a near-freezing state which creates a rosy, floral nose with a hint of pepper spice and estery undertones. Both are available now through January. A six pack sells for about $7.99 and is offered in most of the 26 states where New Belgium is sold.
