Default Taste Buds 161: 2° Below... waaaaay below! (New Belgium 2° Below Ale)

These are the Show Notes and Comments to Taste Buds Episode #161. You can watch the entire show, including these show notes, by clicking here.

From the Brewer: The beer goes through dry-hopping during fermentation, which creates a rosy, floral nose with a hint of pepper spice and estery undertones. Brewmaster Grady Hull. “We also use a hop that isn’t typically used for dry-hopping and push it into a near-freezing state. The results are fantastic aromas, brilliant clarity and an ale that warms the spirit.” 2º Below is available now through January and retails for approximately $7.99. It's offered in most of the 26 states where New Belgium is sold.

The Beer Box Score
  • ABV: 6.6%
  • IBUs: NA
  • Hops: Sterling, Liberty
  • Malts: Tawny roasted
  • Original Gravity: NA
From Us: On today's episode of Taste Buds Erik and Dusty crack open another winter beer, this one from New Belgium. See if 2° Below fights off the cold by warming up the bod.

The first time I tried 2 Below was at a Taco Del Mar place in Ft Collins and it surprisingly helped take some of the edge off the spicy taco. The two peppers, one in the beer and one in the taco, seemed to go well together. I'll have to try one of these again as it's been over a year.

Had this beer for the first time a few weeks ago. I love it. I can say a sixer of 2 below and a bottle of Hebrew Jewbalation puts you over the line though

I can second that with warson on that. The Hebrew Jewbalation will put you over the line with anything.
