From Benjamin Weiss at The Bruery...
I write to you today with a question: Why does Easter have to be about a bunny who can't seem to keep an eye on his eggs, forcing kids to search around their gardens to find them? Why can't Easter and the Spring season be about a brand new seasonal beer from a young, up and coming brewery based in Orange County, California? The Bruery, cleverly named after it's owner, Patrick Rue, has only been around for 11 short months but the amount of critical acclaim being awarded to their handcrafted ales has been astounding. Taking classic Belgian styles and twisting them up by adding elements such as lavender, chamomile, Thai basil or even making a beer with yams, The Bruery has quickly forged a strong following among beer connoisseurs. This March, The Bruery released the first edition of their Spring seasonal beer, Saison De Lente, in a celebration of the warm weather to come and the joy that it brings with it. Saison De Lente is a hoppy, but light beer, brewed with both The Bruery's house yeast strain as well as the wild Belgian yeast, brettanomyces, which gives it a delightfully subtle yet funky appeal. Coming in at 6.5% abv and served out of 750ml champagne style bottles or on draft at select bars, this is the perfect beer to get you through egg hunting season. ![]() And this just in! If the return of the sun wasn’t enough to celebrate, our friends in Arizona and New Jersey can now raise a glass and toast their friends with Saison De Lente as The Bruery is now being distributed in two new states! Little Guy from Arizona and Hunterdon from New Jersey have picked up The Bruery and will be stocking your store shelves and bar taps as soon as next week. ### Also available from The Bruery: Orchard White, Black Orchard, Saison Rue and other seasonal and small batches at select establishments. The Bruery's stuff is consistently stellar. I've got a growler of their White Zin (a blend of a Belgian Golden ale brewed with Zinfandel grapes and a young Lambic-style sour ale) in the fridge as I type. Very tasty stuff.
